We hired Tim initially to paint a couple of rooms on our first floor. After getting quotes from several different contractors and checking references we decided to go with Tim Long. Tim provided us with a quote and a schedule and answered all of our questions. He and his team of professionals completed this job early and in a very, very professional manner. They were extremely careful of our furniture and our newly remodeled kitchen. Tim and his team did such an outstanding job that we contracted with him to complete the rest of our house interior, both upstairs and downstairs. I must say that this was a most difficult job for Tim to schedule around as we asked him to paint at the same time as we were having our bathrooms remodeled. Over the last few months, I had several contractors doing various jobs inside and outside our home. Tim Long Painting was by far the most professional contractor, and the ONLY one I would unequivocally recommend. RE: Reference Letter for Tim Long Painting
DATE: December 8, 2008
In late 2008, we were interviewing prospective contractor candidates for painting the entire exterior of our house and yard perimeter fencing. Tim arrived promptly for the site visit appointment, was personable, answered all of our questions in an acceptable manner and provided a complete proposal/contract shortly thereafter. Tim also provided us as references, two homes in our neighborhood for which he had completed exterior painting jobs earlier in the year (unbeknownst to us). We visited both homes to evaluate the workmanship and also talked to our neighbors about their experiences.
Our decision to contract Tim Long Painting for our exterior painting job was made based on personal impressions of Tim, the manner and content of his responses to our questions and concerns, the quality of workmanship in the completed jobs at our neighbors’ homes and the very positive feedback on their experiences, and a competitive price quote. We negotiated some of the proposal/contract terms to fit our specific needs quickly and without hassle, and Tim started the job on November 10, 2008 with an estimated completion date (weather permitting) of November 20, 2008.
The work to be performed included site preparation (power wash, trench along foundation wall, patch and repair stucco cracks, repair of damaged stucco, scraping and sanding, caulking of joints, covering/masking/shielding/tie-up of doors and windows, decorative fixtures, hardscape and landscape), installation of some new trim wood work, two separate coats of paint (primary coat and finish coat) to match an existing color scheme, and cleanup (replacement of all soil removed from trenching around foundation, removal of all coverings/masks/shields/ties, replacement of removed seals and proper daily disposal of all trash).
In terms of the day-to-day, Tim and his crew were personable and easy to communicate with. They were timely for daily shifts and checked in to make sure vehicles were removed from areas where access would be blocked due to the day’s tasks or where the vehicle may be blocking their planned activities. The crew cleaned up appropriately at the end of each day. Free access to at least one main entrance to the home was maintained at all times.
In terms of quality, we had zero color issues and zero squawks at walkthrough (which included checking the quality of work throughout and verifying completeness of the clean-up) which is pretty impressive as we are a highly discerning customer who pays particular attention to detail (Tim was forewarned of this…). The job was even completed one day earlier than planned.
Tim and his crew did a great job, provided a high value of service and were truly a pleasure to work with. Bravo!
